VTECH Successfully Energizes the 220kV Truong Son 2 Substation in Laos
December 16, 2025 – Vietnam Technology Co., Ltd. (VTECH), acting as the main construction contractor, has successfully energized the 220kV TS2 Substation. This is a pivotal component of the Truong Son 2 Wind Power Plant Project located in Bolikhamxay Province, Lao People’s Democratic Republic.

Invested by the Truong Son 2 Wind Power Investment Joint Stock Company, this project stands as one of the largest wind power developments in Laos, characterized by highly complex construction conditions. The timely completion and energization of the TS2 Substation serve as a critical milestone, paving the way for the project to reach commercial operation (COD) as scheduled.

Throughout the implementation phase, VTECH faced significant challenges due to the rugged mountainous terrain and harsh weather conditions, notably high humidity, prolonged rainfall, and dense fog. These environmental factors posed major obstacles to the transportation of heavy equipment, installation processes, material preservation, and occupational safety.

In response to these difficulties, VTECH leveraged its 20 years of experience as an EPC contractor. The company proactively applied flexible construction solutions, including enhanced protective shielding, strict humidity control, and equipment drying techniques. Additionally, VTECH optimized its workforce management and shift schedules to effectively recover the timeline.
With a spirit of discipline, professionalism, and an absolute commitment to Safety – Quality – Progress, VTECH successfully energized the TS2 Substation on schedule. This achievement further solidifies VTECH’s capability in executing large-scale renewable energy projects in international markets and stands as a testament to the strong energy cooperation between Vietnam and Laos in their shared strategy for sustainable development.
